About Me

My name is Michelle and I am a lover of all things braille!
I have worked as a Teacher for the Visually Impaired for the last 4 years in Southern Virginia. Before that I was a special education teacher who served students with learning and behavioral disabilities. My masters is in the field of teaching reading.
At my very heart I am a teacher. I love learning and trying new things and when I learn something I love to share and that is what this is all about. Like my "tag line" says I truly believe that access to knowledge is power. When I first entered the field as a TVI and I began looking for information to help learn my job and better serve my students, I hit brick wall after brick wall. In 2019, who doesn't go to YouTube or Google to find out how to do something. Well when it came to the field of braille and especially how to do braille transcription it was like a void opened up. I spent way too much time and energy trying to find out how to use a program that I needed. And I don't think anyone should have to do that!
I am a wife, mother, teacher and CRAFTER! I hope something you find here is helpful. If so please let me know!
